I enjoy teaching English. It empowers others, and I know that a good education can make a positive impact on the future. I believe that education opens a student up to a world of new opportunities, and it prepares students for the world ahead of them. My beliefs stem from a volunteer internship I accepted in a small village school in Uganda. The students I worked with would walk as many as three hours each day in order to get to school. They did so because they knew the value of education, and the opportunities that it could create. I took the appreciation these children had for education back with me to the United States, and I hope to pass that appreciation along to American children.I prefer to teach English because it gives students the ability to express their opinions and viewpoints. It also enables them to think critically about many of life's questions. English is a skill that is essential in every student's success going forward, whether it is through verbal or written communication. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and photography.
